Fish curry Kerala Style

I used Salmon but you can use any white fish like pomphlet....:)

ALL YOU NEED:

4 Salmon Fillets
1 Chopped Onion
1/2 Tomatoes
1 tsp Mustard seeds
2-3 Curry leaves
1 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
Few coconut pieces (small size)
Piece of Tamarind dipped in water
2 tsp Vinegar
2 chopped Green chilies
Salt to taste
1 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 turmeric powder
4 tsp oil

METHOD:

Marinate the Fish in salt and vinegar and keep it aside for 15 min...

Also dip the tamarind in hot water and keep it aside till you need it in the recipe...:D

Take the coconut pieces, add water and grind it in the mixer

Until it's a smooth water thing something like this...:D

Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seed, curry leaves and wait for them to crackle...

Stir in onions and cook them until brown...

Add in Ginger garlic paste & chillies...:D

Add Turmeric powder, red chili powder & cumin powder, cook for few seconds...

and stir in tomatoes...

Make a paste, mash the tomatoes and mix everything together...

Stir in tamarind water about 1/2 cup and few tamarind pulps (no seeds & threads)...:)
Now add the fish and cover it with a lid and let it cook for 2-3 min...:D

Add the coconut paste you made earlier, mix it and again cover it let the fish cook...:D

It'll look something like this...:D

You can add a little bit of water if you want more curry, I did about 1/2 cup more and left t covered for 2-3 min and without lid for 2-3 min...:D

Just make sure the fish is cooked and it's ready to be served with boiled rice...:D
