Parantha's are national breakfast of India. Whether it's Potatoes, Paneer (Indian Cheese), cauliflower, radish etc etc we just love them...:) So, here's the recipe..:)
Take about 2 cups flour (Indian wheat is available only at Indian store but you can also use all purpose flour) and 1 cup water and make kneed until dough is soft, you can add 1-2 tsp oil to soften it up..:)
Now, take a small piece from the dough and using a rolling pin roll it up to a small circle use spare flour so that it doesn't stick...
All You Need:
Dough of Indian Wheat/ all purpose flour
For The Filling:
1 1/2 Cups Shredded Paneer
1/2 chopped Onion
2 tsp Carom seeds (Ajwain)
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp red chili powder
Serves: 8-10 Pranthas
METHOD:
In a bowl add all the filling ingredients and mix them well...:)
Do the same as above and make another circle probably same size (don't bother if its little bigger or little smaller than the first one)
Now, add the spread the filling over the top...
Using the other circle cover it up also fold the ends so that the filling won't pop out...
Add some flour on the top and bottom so that it doesn't stick and filling won't pop out... and using a rolling pin, with a light hand roll this up and evenly spread the filling inside...
Using the same method roll up 4-5 Pranthas before putting them on gas...(it's easier if you're new to making Pranthas :P)
Put this prantha on a heated pan and let it cook from the bottom...
Using a tong keep checking the bottom if it's brown turn it....
Evenly spread butter on the top and wait for the other side to turn brown..:)
When done turn to the other side and again spread butter...:) cook both sides well and specially from the corners...:)
Enjoy it with fresh Raita or Yogurt seasoned with Salt & pepper...:)
