Rajma (Red kidney beans)

Our Fav recipe..:D




All You Need:

2 cups Rajma (kidney beans)
1 medium onion
2-3 tomatoes
Cumin seeds
3-4 Black and green Cardamom
1 bay leaf
2 tbsp Garlic paste
1 tbsp ginger paste
3 green chilies
Cilantro leaves
Salt to taste
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tbsp Rajma powder
1 tsp garam Masala (optional)

SERVES: 4

METHOD:

Soak kidneybeans overnight and pressure cook them till they are soft enough to eat...

In a pan add 3 tsp olive oil/ghee, bay leaf, cumin seeds, cardamom...cook them but not for too long...


Grind the onion and add it to the hot pan...


Cook until brown...

Puree the tomatoes and mix them with the onions...


Cook the tomatoes well or until the oil separates
  

Add the boiled kidney beans with water (water used to boil the beans) and see extra if needed...


Also add salt, red chili powder,rajma masala and garam masala (optional)

 Add garlic and ginger paste...


Wait until they come to a boil and add freshly chopped Cilantro leaves and green chilies...:D


Enjoy them with plain boiled rice or cumin rice...:D
